Therefore, use of flexible pouches provided with re-closable zip seals is becoming very common now days in retail stores especially for refrigerated food items to reduce the chance of getting spoiled once the package has been opened.
Snack foods are being packed in flexible packages in a big way. Biscuits, nuts, crackers, cookies, dried fruits etc. are now generally available in flexible packaging only.
One very important advantage of using flexible packaging is that it increases the shelf life of a product. This is especially applicable to food products like biscuits, chocolates etc. This is because of the fact flexible packaging uses high grade plastic or aluminum as raw material.
Another advantage of this packaging material is that a product could be packed in many innovative ways to catch the attention of a customer. For example, standup pouches used to pack the product could be kept in shelves or hung up from a peg for its display. All these variants provide many innovative ways to market the product successfully.
The material used in flexible packaging is quite strong and yet quite pliant so that many colorful graphic designs could be printed on it to attract the attention of the customer amongst many other similar products available.
