Willow Tree Article

The word Angel came from the ancient Greek word Angelos, meaning messenger. According to the Bible, Angels have been fighting a battle of good and evil, headed by the prolific Michael Archangel, against the forces of evil led by the fallen Angel known as Lucifer.

Ever since the world began, Angels were sending the Lord's messages for His faithful followers and prophets of the three most famous religions of the world which have set the cornerstone of events and history of the world for more than 2000 years. Famous historical and religious personalities and prophets such as Abraham, Elijah, Mohammad, John the Baptist, Mary mother of Jesus, are a few of many who were visited and given messages from the Lord by Angels, the most famous of these messenger Angels is the Angel Gabriel.

Given this role by God, they are given credit to have given hope and strength to people to withstand life's challenges, and to be strong-willed and stay true to their faith.

Willow Tree Angel figurines express the qualities of someone's feelings and sentiments. Expressions of Love, Friendship, Spirituality, Hope, are just some of the themes available. Hand-crafted by the artist Susan Lordi, every figurine gives out a message of healing, love, hope and courage. Her drive to promote healing and inspiration to motivate others through her sculptures, and remembrance of emotions of life well-lived.

Began in January, 2000, Susan started the Willow Tree Figurines line up with only 15 Angel figurines and a Nativity scene. Ever since then, her collection grew by the thousands of Angel figurines to express human sentiments to our loved ones.

Every Willow Tree Figurine has been made an "open" interpretation for anyone's point of view on how they see each piece with the distinctive blank faces on each Willow Tree figurine. She created Willow Tree Angels so that anyone can relate to what the figurines express depending on what their feelings tell them and eventually process that interpretation into something good.

Why is it called Willow Tree? Willow Tree because the columnar design of each Angel figurine symbolizes the firm stance of a willow tree and metaphorically holds objects of nature such as flora and animals to symbolize healing, remembrance and beauty.

These little statues of Angels were created by human hands to give strength, courage, faith and love. And unlike the Angels that serve as our guardians, Willow Tree Angels are visible to our naked eyes.

It is a comforting thought that a good being suddenly will appear and comfort us every time we are down on our luck and in our time of sorrow. Providing us comfort, hope and relief by a supernatural being sent by God is such a comforting thought to everyone who believes. I'm sure that most, if not all, persons in different parts of the world have their own story of miracles.
Figurine Angels from Willow Tree may be visible to human eyes, unlike the real ones that watch over us wherever we go, but they are duplicates of human expressions and emotions that we can relate to and help us enhance each of our emotion and share it to the people we know or do not know, and give them the care, strength and love they deserve.
